Monitoring /2 Trade Chat from anywhere in World of Warcraft

A lot of players have been asking for a Global Trade Chat or (/2 Trade Chat) from Blizzard in forums and blog posts but this feature is still not available in World of Warcraft. Whether you're collecting resources such as mining and herbalism, doing daily quests or hunting for rare pets, sometimes you might need to keep track of what's going on in Trade Chat. If you always pug raids, you will need to see if anyone is forming a group and if you're a PVPer, you might want to see if there's any RBG or Arena group forming and etceteras.

There's an addon out there called TradeForwarder, but you will still need to rely on one of your friends to use the addon and sit in Trade Chat doing nothing. It's a good idea, but this is fine unless your buddy do not mind to stay in town all day. Another way, is to get a second account and use this addon.

Using dual monitor to keep track of Trade Chat and Battlemasters.org

In this post, I'm going to show you how I monitor trade chat as well as Battlemasters.org website (A website to LFG / LFM for RBGs) while I'm out hunting for rares. First of all, you will need a dual monitor (If you can afford and already have 3 monitors it will be much better but you need more space). As you can see from the screenshot above, my main account is on the left and my monitor on the right is showing my second World of Warcraft account with a web browser displaying Battlemasters.org Chat. This way, I can keep track on what group is forming, what great items are selling and etceteras. You can also whisper the person advertising directly using your main account and carry on from there.

Using Windows Magnifier tool to zoom in trade chat
Also, just to share with you how I usually keep track of what's going on in trade chat, I use Windows Magnifier which can easily be accessible via Windows Icon > All Programs > Accessories > Ease of Access > Magnifier if you're using Windows 7. My bed is just across my computer table, so the trade chat is always  visible when I'm watching TV or reading on my bed.
